There are many side characters in this book and some Twisted characters made appearances which was so fun and exciting. He’s not bad but it’s his ego that kind of ruins some things. Like bro that’s not gentlemanly type for me.
I just couldn’t handle the one scene where he wanted to let Isa win a board game at least once but his “stomach churned” from letting that happen. He wasn’t poorly written, it’s just that his pride gets in the way. Kai is the main lead and let me say that he’s my not-so-favorite from Huang’s book. She had a great development and I learned a bit from her. I loved how strong and funny she was in the book. She knows she wants to be an author but her writer’s block isn’t letting that happen along with the stress from her brother. Isabella is the main female lead in the story and I really enjoyed her character. This book is written in dual perspectives. Now the part on why I enjoyed the first book more is about the characters.
I enjoy how Huang still keeps the family and friends elements in the book and doesn’t just mainly focus on the romance.
The pacing was fast and there were so many cute scenes in the book. I was really invested in the story and couldn’t stop reading it once I started. I really enjoyed the story and the way that Huang makes her billionaire stories unique and not similar to her other books. Though I have to say that I enjoyed the first one a lot more than this book. When I read King of Wrath, I knew that the next book will be about Isabella and Kai just by seeing their chemistry from the first book.
